Ok I just recieved my 901b with passthrough from
this ebay seller.
Here are my 1st impressions on them and the product.
First of all it is worth mentioning that I made the purchase Tuesday night / wednesday morning (12:15am).
The item was sent yesterday (wednesday) and arrived this morning.... excellent service.
I sent the seller one email yesterday and they replied within 30mins....excellent service again.
Opened up the box and my immediate impressions were....eww I dont like that 'mini cig' gold print on the atomiser... but I'm sure it will rub off soon enough.
Secondly I noticed that the air hole on the atomiser was half closed and looked like a gold cresent.... this was due to the battery connector (on the atomiser) rotating a fraction inside the black atomiser case.... no big deal but it didnt fill me with confidence.
I also quickly noticed that the "Dual Charger" starter kit actually only included a USB charger with a USB/Mains coverter
Pretty dissapointed with that but I suppose that is down to interpretation of the auction wording.... again its not the end of the world.
I put the spare battery on charge (using the mains adapter) and all 4 LED's (including the battery tip) flashed and lit in the way they are meant to.... So that seems fine.
The battery that was already attatched to the atomiser was dead after 2 puffs.
I didnt inhale the vapour from those two puffs as the primer fluid tastes like curried crap!! nasty.
So I put that dead battery to one side and broke out the one I was waiting for... the PASSTHROUGH! First impressions from just looking at it... pretty cheap and nasty.... Nothing terrible just not as solid as I was expecting, so I will probably reinforce the wire where it meets the battery case.
I removed the mouthpiece from the atomiser (after getting the local tug'o'war team to help)... it was jammed in there pretty good.
Added a drop of glycerine and a my last drop of British bulldog to try and help rinse the primer fuid..... replaced the mouthpiece and connected the atomiser to the passthrough.
I took a VERY light 1-2sec pull and OMFG... the vapour cloud produced was unbelievable. Tasted like the dogs arse that scott uses to teach smoke rings, but it was a massive cloud.
First impressions of the passthrough are that the switch is SUPER SUPER sensitive making for a very light and easy pull.... I like that a lot. But it means that I will probably not be able to leave it hanging from my gob as just breathing on this thing activates it. VERY SENSETIVE indeed.
Also, and I dont know if this is a product of a fresh/new atomiser or not, but it seems to burn very hot on the passthrough. Sizzling and bubbling from the second it touches my lips.... and although I havnt noticed a sticky switch yet it does bubble for maybe half a second after I stop taking a drag.
So for first impressions, I'm blown away by the passthrough performance and LOVE it already... I cant wait for the primer fluid taste to dissapear from the atomiser so I can give it a proper try.
As for the 901 itself.... it doesnt seem to be particularly well made... between the offline air hole, the tightly fitting mouthpiece, and some slightly 'gritty' feeling threads on the connectors. THAT BEING SAID, its not terrible by any means and overall Im very happy with it.
Time will tell what its like on the batteries but I bought this specifically for the passthrough... the batteries were a bonus really.
I'll give an update in a day or so when Ive given this thing a propper tryout.
