Hello...

Thought I'd let people know that I cleaned all my atomisers today using Steradent and rinsing them in distilled water...It cleaned them well, got rid of a lot of debris and cleared away all the e-juice taste...so far, they are still working well no problems....

I remember someone in another topic asking whether it worked....well it did for me so far Smiley.. I'll post if any probs ... Smiley

So it doesnt hurt or shorten the life span of the atomizers to get them wet with H2O or sterident or other cleaning aids? Seems it may to me. How often do you have to clean the atomizers. I thought the e-cigs were self cleaning after 1500 puffs or something like that. Is this true too?

I was wondering that too, my cleaning regime now is:

1 hot water rinse through.
2 put atomizers in a small glass filled with rubbing alcohol (IPA) to over the height of the atomizers.
3 use a pipette squirting though each end (while submerged in IPA).
4 soak in IPA overnight.
5 repeat 2.
6 repeat 1.
7 dry in front of fan heater.

Then redrip e-liquid in, to prime, & use as normal.

Certainly makes them work & taste better
but in step 3, if I hold the glass up to the light I can see quite a lot of sparkling fibres in the clear IPA.

The implication is I'm knackering the wick in the atomizer, & I'm wondering if they'll suddenly stop working altogether.

Or on the bright side, maybe the wick that the wire is wrapped around isn't actually really needed after the coil is formed ?

I find the atomisers so hit and miss. Some last days others last months. Some day I'm sure someone will bring out one that they can guarantee for a year or more. I am finding that my 901 atomisers don't last very long at all where as the super minis seem to go on for ever.

good advice from both of you. thank you. I am getting the 901, so the mini will be my next venture. I am considering wholesaling and selling to all who ask of me...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I did read on another forum some one had had good results getting gunk off atomisors by leaving them in coke or pepsi for a few hours.

But if you have a google you will find this "the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its Ph is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days."

so this one gets you thinking, good or bad idea?

But then again we drink this stuff so who who knows!

here is the link if anyones intrested.

Just soaked 2 Evo atomisers in Pepsi Max - great job! After soaking I rinsed 'em in boiling water and it's truly given them a new lease of life. It even seems to have taken away the burning taste from the black atomiser that 'died' a while ago, I'd resorted to just dripping with that one.

A handy cleaner for when on holiday too, as I always always keep diet Coke or Pepsi Max to hand! *is caffeine addict*

So it doesnt hurt or shorten the life span of the atomizers to get them wet with H2O or sterident or other cleaning aids?

Looking at steradent ... it says 'keep solution away from metal surfaces' ... suggesting it perhaps corrodes metal ? ... if so i am guessing is not ideal for the atomiser ... but can understand why it would appear to be beneficial to get an extra bit of life, as it corrodes the surface layer, and removing any residue which may be attached to surface ....
When you say H2O ... do you literally mean water ... just wondering if you maybe meant H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide).. which i have plenty of ... but doubt it would be much help for takin residue off

My atomisers have been fine for 3 weeks with High Strength Tobacco flavour juice .. until i got my first delivery of LorAnn flavourings ... tried a few different flavours on first day ... on second day .. there is a disgusting burnt smell / taste from my atomiser ... needs cleaned NOW ...

Will read up some more before having the confidence to bathe it in chemicals

On a side note .. dont know if im doing the flavour thing wrong .. but they all taste rougher than they smell ... cant say ive really enjoyed any of them yet, even tho they smell great in teh bottles ..  as much as the original tobacco flavour juice i purchased ... surprised that even the coconut doesnt taste very good .. and the overall vape seems a tad nippier now ...
im not measuring them out as such .. just adding a wee drop or 2 to about 5ml of flavourless juice ...

Well my atomiser is fine now ... didnt use chemicals .. just warm water in an ultrasonic cleaner ...

although i was more concerned with removing the nasty remnants of various LorAnn flavourings, than a hefty residue build up

The price we pay for these ecigs i truly think there pretty simple things and surly there is a better way of atomizing things with out just using a coil and battry lol.I expect these things sell for like 5 quid in china lol

Then spread the word ....

As the ripple effect takes place .. and more and more people start to vape .. the price can only come down ...
Unless the government intervenes .. and taxes it somehow, to compensate for the reduction in cigarette sales ... or just out of greed

How often do you have to clean them like that? How do you know when they are ready to be cleaned thoroughly? Does the 36 mg liquid satisfy the real ciggarette cravings? Like i am not withdrawling from nicotine, but somehow I want an anologue smoke. I am using 24 mg camel and lots of it. THe thing is in my mouth all day long. Not a throat hit anymore it seems.

The only time I find my evo a little bit unsatisfying is first thing in the morning.... I'm not sure what the lack is, but for the first 30 mins, there is one. Other than that, I find 36mg to be a bit over the top, next time I order its probably going to be much lower.
I end up smoking analogues when I go out drinking, purely because the battery dies  Cry 2 batts and one charger just isn't enough, but when my Titan arrives, hopefully that problem will be a thing of the past Smiley

The other thing I have noticed...... when the battery beigins to tail off, the flavour goes downhill really quickly. Fully charged batteries make a huge difference.

I'm finding my Titan batts last about double a supermini batt. They run out at just the same time the old one has recharged!

Sorry guys, didn't realise this has already been posted, i started a new thread. I've just done the same and it worked a treat.

I had a completely dead DSE atomiser, it had lasted a month of welly so I wasn't too concerned but I kept meaning to try out the pepsi max trick. So yesterday I dropped it into a bottle and errr forgot about it until today.  Dried it out, the atomiser looks as new, primed it with some liquid.... still not a great deal of faith. My god what a miracle! It immediately kicked out great plumes of vapour! Let's see how long it lasts Smiley

Yep, its fine Smiley which says a lot for the types of 'damage' atomisers incur. Some, such as burn out, require binning; I thought mine had done that, but it goes to show that you can never be sure!
Funny how my love of Pepsi Max has gone up, plus my mate recommended it to me for cleaning my silver jewellery today too... lmao Cheesy
