Howdy Nick Smiley   Well, I searched the forum for an answer to this question.. I'm sure it's there, but just cannot find it.

I have a couple bottles (30ml) of Platinum Ice (54mg)... And need your opinion on how long the contents will remain at described strength without deteriorating.  The PI I'm referring to is NOT refrigerated and only in natural room lighting at room temperature.

Thanks,

im 97% its good for a year at least however it may change colour a bit when exposed to air and light, but the nic will not degrade and be fine to vape.

Im sure nick will be hear soon to confirm this.

have fun Dan

Yeah - it may go pink (it will go pink if it's exposed to much light,) but the potency doesn't noticeably diminish over a year (I have juice that old that's fine, even though it has discoloured.) I assume the nicotine oxidizes, but even nicotine oxides are evidently bioavailable (it's my pet theory that almost all our nicotine oxidizes in the heat of the atomizer, so that's actually what we're used to anyway.)

But I would recommend refrigeration for long-term storage, since it's bound to extend the long-term shelf life (even if from decades to centuries Wink), and it's hardly a chore. Bottom line - noone's kept the stuff long enough to find out how long it actually lasts, because vaping hasn't been going that long Smiley

Thanks for that Nick -

Actually the reason I have a couple Botts of PI is while it was being shipped and on the way to me TW came out with some new stuff that caused me to stop mixing. Sad   ON the other hand.. I've got some pretty good stuff in case of an emergency.  Grin

It really has been a FACT with me... Whenever.. no,  WHENEVER I order something... It is the next day that NEW items are added on TW, OR...  the next day there's a huge discount!...  I think TW is following me  LMAO Wink

Thanks again

I was about to ask a similar question, as currently in australia its illegal to sell liquid nicotine, im wondering if i should stock up on liquids in case they make it illegal to order from overseas in the future... but i dont want a haul of liquid that turns 'bad'.

It's not going to happen (simply unforceable - and no governments want to draft uneforceable laws Wink), but the answer is freeze it. Refrigeration's good, but if you freeze it, it will last more than a life time. I haven't been able to plot the curve, because vaping hasn't been around long enough to measure the decay rate, but if it will keep okay for a year at room temp (which it does,) it must keep good for many years in a fridge @ 5'C, and I would think at least a century+ at -15'C

Australia have pretty strict customs and quarantine. One of the most strict in the world. It wouldnt surprise me at all if they made importation of liquid tobacco illegal. They cant govern it, and they cant make money off taxing it. Theres limitations to cigarette purchse from overseas, so i dunno, i think its a possibility if vaping takes off in aus a bit more.

-edit-
thanks for the shelf life info btw
